Verdict

LEVC vehicles pass their MOT first time on 68.4% of tests, against 65.2% for a typical vehicle of the same age and mileage. That beats 64% of cars on UK roads and ranks LEVC 15th of 40 makes.

The result depends on the model. The TX, registered from 2018, beats 99% of cars. The TX4 (2006–2017), the most tested model, beats only 46% and is the one to check most carefully; the older TX II beats 76%. LEVC builds taxis, and like vans they may be pulled down partly by commercial use.

LEVC vehicles fail on steering about 1.8 times as often as a typical vehicle (on about 1 in 19 tests) and on suspension about a quarter more often (about 1 in 7 tests). Emissions and leaks fail a little more often too. Tyres fail about a third less often than typical, and lights and electrics a little less.

LEVC models

Models with 20,000+ MOT tests, most common first. Grades compare each car with cars of the same age and mileage (A = best 20% of cars on UK roads, E = worst 20%), so an older or higher-mileage car can grade above one with a higher pass rate. Light vans are included and tend to grade lower, partly from hard commercial use.

FAQ

What is LEVC's MOT pass rate?

68.4% of LEVC MOT tests were passed first time, from 213,724 tests. A typical vehicle of the same age and mileage passes 65.2%, so LEVC is above average.

Is the LEVC TX reliable?

On MOT results, yes: the TX, registered from 2018, beats almost every car on UK roads once age and mileage are taken into account. MOT results cover safety and emissions items, not every kind of breakdown.

Is the TX4 reliable?

The TX4 is a little below average: it beats just under half of cars on UK roads. Check the steering and suspension carefully.

What are the most common MOT failures on LEVC vehicles?

Suspension and lights and electrics (each about 1 in 7 tests), brakes (about 1 in 10) and steering (about 1 in 19, about 1.8 times as often as a typical vehicle).

How we calculate this. We use official MOT results for cars tested in Great Britain from 2018 to 2026. Each car is compared with typical cars of the same age and mileage, so old and new cars are judged fairly; “pts” are percentage points above or below them. Differences also reflect how cars are used and maintained, not only how they are built.
